I'm so sorry I ignored you, but you know how it is - work gets nuts, the kids have time off, and other creative endeavours use up all your precious juice.
But I'm here now! Phew! What a relief.
The general consensus seems to be "Don't spend money on promoting a book until you have more than one to sell" so I have spent precisely $0 on promoting this.
MADNESS! I hear you cry. Maybe it is, but then I did write it so what do you expect? AARGGH HAHAHAHAHA
Anyway, it's still currently available to read on Kindle, exclusively, but this will run out in a week or two, so there'll be a frankly ludicrous 61% price drop soon.
After that, it'll pop back on almost every online book place, which is also probably why (when I first did this) someone in Germany bought a bunch and has been trying to sell them for $$$ on eBay. What a goof!
Oh yeah, and I intend to have another book to hawk before the year is out so WATCH OUT FOR THAT!
BUT WHAT ELSE?
Music is my other main passion, and in the last few months one of my projects has really taken off, relatively speaking.
First of all, my main one, Cardboard Dead Boy, has seen a split EP get released with a UK label. If you like glitchy electronica and jazz breaks, this is for you!
I started a side project called Professional Hairdresser back in May - there's a sub-genre of music called 'barber beats' that, effectively, is slowed down versions of old 90s chillout tracks drenched in reverb. I thought it was nuts no one makes that kind of music and calls themselves 'Professional Hairdresser' which to be honest is the main reason I did it.
However, if you're at all familiar with the idea of plunderphonics (making new songs from old ones) I've gone that route eg. drums from one song, bass from another, etc. And it's proven pretty popular! I set myself a mini-challenge of releasing an album a month and for the last three that's exactly what I've done.
The second album was picked up by a well-known label in this genre and released it on CD...! And the first two albums were both premiered on a YouTube channel that's also well-known for championing this and similar genres. That channel ALSO has a label, and has expressed interest in putting something by me out on cassette. So if you're a fan of physical media, you're covered.
