I'M PART OF A BRITISH FANTASY SOCIETY EVENT!

 Hello, Your Eyeballs

Here's some news: I'm going to do a reading as part of a British Fantasy Society online event!

My slot's just after 1pm GMT, and you can see the full schedule HERE. Side note: that's really bad linking behaviour right there, tsk tsk. And yet, I did it anyway.

What Else?

It's okay to ask questions in headings if they're answered straight away, but it's better to avoid doing it at all. Oh wait, that's not entirely relevant to this post's actual topic! Instead, I'll tell you what is:

THIS VILLAGE NEVER DREAMS

This is my next novel, it's finished, and the upcoming event has given me a kick up the arse to get it formatted. It's a lot longer than A WRETCHED PLACE - VILLAGE is around 110,000 words compared to PLACE's 75,000 - which is part of the reason I've taken my time with it.

Although I have a cover design in mind, I'm going to see if I can commission something this time - collaborating is fun, and to be frank it also means you get another voice to help market your work.

Segue Time!

Speaking of collaborating...another reason I've been taking my time with this is because I do a lot of music stuff, as regular readers of my irregular updates will already know. One of my latest projects is a doomgaze project, that I'm doing with a vocalist based in Missouri of all places.

Doomgaze is basically really heavy shoegaze, and I'm cutting loose on guitar for it. Jim's doing baroque vox, and you can hear him in action in Harpo Javi. He's also involved in the same barber beats world as me, with his Magnum Innominandum project.

Oh yeah, and last month I released three new and completely different albums! They run the gamut from weirdo downtempo, to cinematic dark jazz, to industrial breakbeat.

And Finally

My day job keeps me busy - I'm the Senior Editor for Eneba, where I cover video game news but with actual journalist integrity, so no shilling for anyone, and keeping things objective. I've also done a bunch of interesting interviews already, too!

And that's that. Hopefully I'll have ARC copies of THIS VILLAGE NEVER DREAMS available around the time of the BFS event...!
